FII / FPI Flows

Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) — renamed from FIIs in 2014 — hold listed equity, debt, and hybrid instruments. Equity AUC represents market value of FPI equity holdings. FPI net equity inflows in FY2024 were ₹2.07 L Cr (positive after FY2022 outflows of ₹1.21 L Cr). FPI ownership in NSE500 companies: ~20% of free-float. Heavy dependence on FPI flows creates rupee volatility when global risk-off triggers exits.
